TL;DR
A a good OPSEC can beat the censonrship, allowing you to don’t be governed. But before you need to understand why individuals are ungovernable and read about the Asch Conformity Study done by Solomon Asch in the 1950s
As you may have seen in the index of the blog I have highlighted the phrase “Individuals are ungoverable”.
What does this mean?
This mean that, you do what you think is right, at the moment and the way you want. Without for example having fear to have economic problems, being arrested or inclusive imprisoned, like we are seeing in UK!
Asch conformity experiments were a series of studies carried out by Solomon Eliot Asch in the 1950s, who was psychologist and pioneer in social psychology. You can read more about it here.

This experiment try to explain us is that the crowd is easily governed and manipulated, but is extremely more difficult to rule over a society compound by self-confidents and determined people, with critical thinking, capacity of debate about complex subjects, be able to judge their own ideas without letting themselves be blinded by fanaticism. And at the end, but the most important, to don’t be swayed by the presssure of anything; either groups, powerful people or what the masses said.
But nowadays, is too difficult to achieve it without allowing the technology to help you to build a good operational security. Using the tech correctly, is possible to achieve a good OPSEC that will allow you to: don’t influenced or tracked by algorithms, goverments and the crowd.
And, on the other hand, by not being afraid to exercise your freedom of expression because of the consequences of any kind you could suffer. If you want to start this exiciting journey, there is tone of content over the internet, but these are good starting points:
- Electronic Frontier Foundation and Surveillance Self-Defense
- Proton Blog: news, guides, opinions…
- Beginnerprivacy.com
- Scott Helme: hacker, researcher, builder of things
- The Freedom Blog from David Thunder
- Tor, Mullvad and IVPN blogs
Don’t let yourself be censored
The silencing is always bad, it doesn’t matter if it come from a dictatorial goverment, or more habitual in modern “democracies”, by those ones that consider themself transporters of the absolute truth. Whatever anyone say or think that goes belong his ideas is wrong!
So don’t let they win, use the technology to make you stronger, because, a good OPSEC can beat the censorship, that unfortunately has spread like wildfire.

What should I look for to get started?
- 👣 Privacy
What is it, why my data matter and
I have nothing to hideis wrong.- Privacy and anonymity.
Differences, which is better for my threat model?
- 🔒 Encryption, encryption and more encryption.
E2E and zero knowledge.
- ✉️ PGP
Encrypted emails. Proton mail
- Security communication
E.g. signal and simplex.
- Metadata ‼️
Super important (e.g. how big tech sell your metadata).
- SMS and traditional phone calls
Insecure. No encryption!
- Password managers, FIDO2 keys (yubikey), TOTP, 2FA
What are them, why use it. Top protection. Antiphising
- Email aliases
SimpleLogin
- Linux and open source ✅
Why leave windows is going to change how you see technology
Encryption is the key
Learn about encryption is the best thing you can do. Security is about layers and encryption is the key of it. A bad encryption will result in a poor privacy and of course, security.
